Role Description

Our client is a dynamic import distribution company which specializes in managing apparel and merchandise for some of NZ's leading sports and toy brands distributing to a wide range of retailers throughout NZ and Australia. We currently have an opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant to join their small team. The ideal candidate would have a trained apparel background as, in addition to the following tasks, this is an ideal opportunity to contribute your fashion knowledge as you grow within the company.

The role involves:

  • Customer Orders - Pick, Pack, Dispatch and Freight Management
  • Processing of Inwards Goods
  • Inventory Management – Stock takes, Replenishment and Organization
  • Quality Control – Inspection and Repacking
  • Product Finishing – Assembly, Folding, Bagging and Labelling
  • Customer Services – email and phone

Requirements

The person would ideally have:

  • Some warehouse experience and/or apparel experience
  • A committed, passionate and team-oriented attitude to work
  • Common sense, maturity, initiative and the ability to learn.
  • High levels of organization, accuracy, numeracy and communication
  • Drivers and forklift licenses - or be willing to be supported into one.
  • Systems and process aptitude – and confidence in a computerized environment.
  • A reasonable level of fitness and lifting capability
  • Career development aspirations

You are efficient, able to work independently, have good communication skills along with second to none organisation abilities and initiative. A current driver's license, intermediate computer skills, preciseness and a sense of humour is necessary. Some experience in the fashion industry or dispatch/production would be ideal.
