We are seeking a Graphic Designer with proven fashion apparel experience to join this successful NZ fast fashion retail brand. The successful applicant will hold a Dip. in Graphic or Digital Design, or equivalent. In this role you will be working with the Buying and Production teams responsible for designing and developing the men’s wear product range, maintaining a design lead and commercial product strategy that drives sales and product awareness.
Apparel Design: In conjunction with the buying team design key seasonal ranges, updating current ranges, creating product and colour palettes. Provide feedback to Buying team on new trends, styles and graphic content. Assist in the creative direction of internal brands to interpret and execute product design. Execute continuous, consistent design and layout of internal briefs for product; apparel, accessories, labelling and packaging. Develop garment and apparel labelling for in-house brands. Provide files ready and spec’d for production
Research and Trend Development: Interpret new trends in-line with brand customers. Contribute to brand and range direction delivering inspiration for new range themes. Research local and international competition and update the buying teams. Support the buying team in generating a clear vision for the product.
Sales Focussed Innovations: Create and maintain product brand guidelines ensuring commercial integrity. Assess top sellers indentifying reasons for results. Maintaining library of trend photos, colour/fabric swatches for new idea development.
Monthly Product Focus: Actively developing future brands focuses across all channels ensuring varying business teams are briefed
You will need:
Diploma: Graphic or Digital Design (or equivalent) essential
Technical Skills: Manual Illustration and extensive ability in graphic software of Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and have a good understanding of catalogue and content management applications. A thorough understanding of apparel and packaging print processes, garment fabrication.
Creativity and Innovation: Highly creative and innovative. Creates and executes ideas which push boundaries, are new and leading edge.
Men’s Streetwear Fashion: Intuitive understanding and passion in men’s Streetwear fashion
Research: Ability to find new sources of information for trend identification.
Other: Commercial acumen within differing brand identities. Strong planning, organisational and time/deadline management skills
You will also need to have a high attention to detail and accuracy and be thorough and precise ensuring the highest quality of graphic design is produced in a timely manner.
