Our client is a leading Australasian work and corporate clothing company committed to providing the highest levels of product quality and customer experience. They are currently working on an exciting major contract with a key corporate client redesigning their uniform. Their product development team need the services of a very experienced senior patternmaker to join the project team developing this exceptional product. You’ll report to the Research and Development Manager and will also supervise their in-house Sample Machinist.

Responsibilities include:

  • Actioning product development requests.
  • Setting up and cataloging detailed, accurate specification and model sheets for all sample garments and patterns.
  • Ensuring accurate, up to date electronic specification and model sheets.
  • Creating new CAD patterns for sampling, to digitize and grade patterns, plus update existing styles.
  • Ensuring all patterns meet quality standards and correct grading formulae.
  • Coordinating the production of accurate sample garments and their costing.
  • Maintaining regular contact with NZ manufacturing and in-house sample machinist regarding sample progress.
  • Attending fitting sessiions.

Requirements

  • A sound grounding in, and a passion for patternmaking. We’d expect a minimum of 10 years’ patternmaking experience in a commercial environment - suiting or corporate wear.
  • A drive for accuracy, and a rigorous attention to detail such that patterns developed meet rigorous quality and grading standards
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • A flexible, patient and easy going approach - able to change as the needs as the project evolves.
  • Flexibility to increase your hours from time to time to meet the needs of the project.
  • Excellent relationship and collaboration skills.
  • A strong level of computer literacy; intermediate to advanced in CAD, Coral Draw or Illustrator, MS Excel and Word.
  • As a strong team player you’ll fit well into a warm and friendly team environment.
