An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Manager of Retail within a boutique brand of ethical fashion leisurewear.

Reporting to the Executive Director and liaising with Strategic Development team + consultants, the Retail General Manager is in charge of the whole NZ team and heads the Marketing department, driving the operations and procedures of the company’s stores, marketing, website, other channels & special projects.

This role is responsible for monitoring and driving the improvements and growth of the performance, productivity and profitability of all functions as outlined below.

Human Resources: Managing all HR staff activities, including training, task delegation, deadlines and accountability

Business, Legal & Financial: Development & implementation of strategies and targets. Implementation, management of KPI systems, legal documents; contracts, leases, licenses & acquisitions. Reviewing sales & financial reports analyzing trends, identifying areas of profit & loss. Working alongside accountant to create and manage forecasts and budgets

Channel Management & Sales: Management (leading store managers) of all channels: retail, web, wholesale, clearance. Sales optimization in-line with strategic growth. Special program management: fashion shows, trade shows, festivals, seasonal launches. Store opening, retail sales & customer service as required. NZ wholesale accounts management

Marketing Management: Creating & managing marketing plans & calendars through all avenues; social, PR, events, promotions, direct, in store, incentives, mailing lists. Managing budgets, monitoring brand positioning, seasonal and other launches. Relationship building & collaboration with PR agency and other external suppliers

Requirements

Ideally you will have experience in:

Retail, at least 3 years at managerial level

HR, and a solid business acumen,

Financial report anaysis, setting of KPI's

A good understanding of marketing initiatives

You will also have excellent communication skills and a strong focus on details as well as the big picture, a responsible attitude as well as a keen and evolving understanding of business structure and goals, along with thorough knowledge of all relevant industry sectors (Management, Marketing, Retail, Fashion, etc) This is a young a vibrant successful company and if you would like to know more about this role, then please email your CV to rosina@ragtrade.co.nz
