Role Description

Our client, whose company has been around for over 20 years, is a niche-manufacturer of sampling kits for some of Australasia's largest textile wholesalers. Their top quality textile samples end up in customers' showrooms in New Zealand, Australia and beyond. Their mission is to delight their customers and make their products stand out from the crowd.

We have a great position available to oversee the production and quality control of the manufacturing plant. This involves managing the day-to-day manufacturing of samples, ensuring that samples are made according to customers’ specifications and in the most efficient way possible.

  • This will be a varied and challenging role, including the following responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that the samples are consistently manufactured according to our customer specifications.
  • Promoting quality and getting it right first time.
  • Coordinating workload and workflow of required tasks across the manufacturing team.
  • Motivating the team to work efficiently and effectively
  • Looking for new ways to improve manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Lending a hand when the manufacturing team gets busy
  • On-going training and development of the manufacturing team through coaching and skills development to support achievement of objectives and personal development.
  • Championing our health and safety culture by ensuring employee accountability and promoting safe work practices.

Requirements

The successful candidate will likely have had hands-on and manufacturing supervisory experience in textile, fabrics, clothing, or fashion industries. This ideally includes knowledge of fabric cutting, folding and / or sewing. We are looking for someone who can motivate and lead others to produce quality products in the most efficient way possible. You will be known for your integrity, attention-to-detail, diligence and being a team player.
