Role Description

Fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an iconic NZ high fashion women’s wear brand based in the Tauranga region in a Production Managers position. This will be a fixed term contract of 1 year plus, and the successful applicant will have proven on-shore production management experience.

The purpose of the role is to oversee all aspects of production ensuring quality garments are produced and delivered on time. To manage all functions of the design room, continuing the theme of a healthy, happy and productive department.

The role:

  • Manage the overall effective running of the Design Workroom to ensure staff are productive, fulfilled and communicated to when changes happen.
  • Liaise with CMT’s, cutters and grading to plan production flow for the season.
  • Develop strong-working relationships with production houses to ensuring priority service.
  • Book bulk fabrics, ensuring delivery to correct address for cutting in a timely manner.
  • Oversee fabric stock management.
  • Order all fabric to complete production orders once garment is signed off and handed over.
  • Process all purchase orders for all brands.
  • Manage and oversee Design Production Assistant.
  • Manage correct bundling of garments and trims to go to CMTs.
  • Negotiate CMT grading and best possible cutting prices.
  • Keep accurate track of all costs related to garments to hand over to design director for final costing.
  • Ensure stock management of incoming and outgoing production (ensuring all goods received are correct).
  • Check first off production samples and final production before being sent to store.
  • Update production schedules daily, ensuring delivery deadlines are met.
  • Keep Design Director updated weekly on production progress.
  • Liaise with Design Assistant ensuring marketing samples are made and collated for shoots.

Requirements

To be successful in your application an apparel degree is essential. With an excellent understanding of the apparel industry you will have in depth experience in on-shore production.

In addition to strong computing skills and excellent communication abilities, you will also need to be super organized, focused and dedicated, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadline.
