Our client specialises in the custom importing, manufacture and management of apparel. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Coordinator to join their vibrant and progressive team. This is a key role collaborating with design, sales, operations and administration teams, as well as working closely with the Managing Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Managing Director.
  • Drive production schedule and reporting.
  • Shipping scheduling and communication internal/external.
  • Track all orders and sampling.
  • Manage re-ordering if stock levels are low.
  • Manage offshore warehouse stock and fabrics.

This Role will develop into the additional duties:

  • Source, select, sample ordering of fabrics from current offshore and onshore suppliers.
  • Order fabric and trims for all garments.
  • Negotiate bulk fabric prices, ordering of swingers and labels for production.
  • Work with the onshore design team to finalise garment spec sheets.
  • Maintain and nurture existing offshore relationships including manufacturers.
  • Negotiate offshore garment costs according to pre-costings and budgets.
  • Oversee offshore sampling QC and QA processes.
  • Responsible for care labels instructions and orchestrating wash tests if needed.
  • Organise shipping/importing of fabric in a timely manner for sampling and bulk production.
  • Calculate freight, customs, and clearance per meter.

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following experience:

  • Technical garment and specification experience (sound knowledge in construction, patterns and textiles)
  • Experience with garment sampling and working through the stages of garment development.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills – MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • To be able to work in a high-pressured environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative but also work well within a team.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
