Role Description

Our client is a successful NZ high fashion brand and retailer; they are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3 years experience to manage their local production. An excellent understanding of apparel onshore production is required to take on this varied role, where you will be monitoring the sampling and production processes; ensuring a high level of quality and that delivery deadlines are met.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include;

  • Allocating styles to appropriate factories, ensuring the best possible cut, make and finish
  • Ensuring samples are cut, made and finished to high standard of quality
  • Negotiating production prices with factories and bulk prices with fabric and trim wholesalers
  • Costing each style and sign off on retail price with the appropriate person.
  • Ordering all raw materials, inspect quality of bulk cloth and trims + resolve any issues

· Send patterns out for grading with any special instructions for grader clearly noted

  • Write up cut sheets. To ensure cutting instructions are clear and that instructions are understood by factory
  • Send marker, sample, pattern, cut sheet and raw materials out to CMT
  • Identify the need for and source new/better factories when required


To be successful in this position you will be teritary apparel trained with a miminum of 3 years technical and or production experience. You will be extremely organized with excellent communication, having advanced attention to detail and time management skills. You will have the ability to handle and resolve problems, with loads of enthusiasm and willingness to be a part of this fantastic team.
